About Us
Mission Statement
Children should be taught according to the collective will of their parents—not the will of special interest groups, political parties, bureaucrats or governments.
We stand against all unfair discrimination of students regardless of race, religion or sexual status; but we oppose favouring any group at the expense of parental rights as regards to the development of school curriculum.
Issues of rights will only be acted upon when first deemed to be a right by the Supreme Court of Canada.
Objectives:
- To fight decisions and actions contrary to the Mission Statement.
- To oppose those seeking political office that do not support the Mission Statement.
- To establish by law, that all material curriculum change shall first be put to a vote of all parents of schools children enrolled in the public school system for approval before implementation.
What have we done?
- Published a DVD in which we ask some tough questions about the agreement and present view points of a number of different people in BC
- Held meetings with Sikh Temples, Mosques, Hindu Temples, Protestant churches and the Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church of Vancouver.
- Published a brochure freely available for distribution in your Church, Temple, Mosque or Community describing the Agreement and its impact on Education in BC.
- Joined TakeBackOurSchools.org by contributing to the content of this site.
- Filed a complaint with the BC Ombudsman most of our questions concerning this agreement raised with MLAs have not received any response; this complaint was raised in March 2008 and no reply has been recieved.
What are we planning to do?
- Organize rallies at all MLA Constituency offices. If 20 persons would do this at every MLA office across the province, who knows what kind of an impact that would make.
- Organize a rally in Victoria. This is still in the planning stages.
