Vander Zalm Letter to Parents

Dear Parents;

As grandparents worried about the future of our grandchildren, we’re concerned about the direction of public education in British Columbia.

Most politicians, at all levels, are usually well meaning, average people but they’re tragically not aware that there’s something, someone, some group much more powerful and devious moulding society for their benefit. It’s happening step by step and their best tools are the Social and Educational programs with children being their prime target. A politically sympathetic level of government and a compliant media, failing to report or under-report, speeds the process.In today’s society parents are too busy to always be aware of what their children are being taught and the system operates to keep it that way. The teachers union decides the teaching, not the teacher. The Ministry of Education and Schoolboards respond to special interest groups not to parents. The growing trend of student indoctrination, to a whole new value system, without parental awareness or consent must be stopped.

Lillian and I have joined PARENTS FOR DEMOCRACY IN EDUCATION, we like their “Mission Statement” which simply says “Children should be taught according to the collective will of their parents – not the will of special interest groups, political parties, bureaucrats or governments.”
