Are you concerned about what is happening in our school system? Would you like to voice your opinions but don’t know how? Letter writing is an important tool to make your opinion known publicly, and to politicians. The following are helpful tips on how to write letters to your MPs, MLAs and local newspapers and bring the issues you care about to the attention of others.

Newspapers get tons of letters for their editorial pages, so yours will have to stand out if it ever wants to grab the attention of the person who sorts through all those letters to the editor.

Letters to Politicians
The tips apply to either e-mail or letter: Personal letters are better than petitions, petitions are better than pre-printed cards (those get mostly thrown away). However, if you have no other choice, use a form letter or sign a petition. It is always better to do SOMETHING rather than nothing at all.
